The challenge
A number of Carma’s product features were under-utilised within their platform. They challenged us to increase the accessibility and engagement across their digital interface to elevate the overall user experience.
Our job was to deliver a new interface design that made the product easier for Marketing Managers & PRs to use, and delivers more meaningful insights and data.
UX workshops & sprints
We led a series of UX workshops with Carma’s product stakeholders to understand their product, goals, and roadmap for the next few years.
Usability was key to the success of the UX design overhaul and our designers focused on improving the user experience, improving the accessibility of functionality in the portal, and providing useful data to users in a format that they can use.
Working in 2 week design sprints, we redesigned Carma’s product interface to deliver an improved user experience. Our designs were later handed over to Carma’s development team to be coded internally.

UI component library
We produced a UI component library to enable Carma’s development team. The library contains a list of flexible pre-designed components that meet Carma’s brand guidelines and can be utilised throughout the platform to create new screens. In this way, Carma can utilise the new UI design to continue to innovate and grow their product.
Data visualisation
Enabling Marketing Managers and PRs to use their tool more effectively, gain deeper insights and better reporting tools was a critical part of the project and would create greater product value.
Our UX designers overhauled the UX design and user journeys within the reporting areas of the platform, making it easier for users to access the information, data and charts they need for their reporting.
We also created new data visualisations and chart designs, and made the charts accessible throughout the platform to create a unified and accessible user experience.
